Most platforms bolt an AI assistant onto their own interface. Cadence is built the other way round. It is a dual-head, headless platform: the web app and the Mac app are two heads onto the same data, and underneath sits a headless layer, a Model Context Protocol connector, that lets the AI system you already use drive Cadence directly. Rather than locking you into one embedded assistant, Cadence opens its full set of actions to Claude, so your planning, capture and delegation happen in the tool you are already thinking in. The intelligence is yours to choose, not ours to impose.

No, it does the opposite. The common pattern across software today is that every tool embeds its own AI, so your data is copied into many different models run by many different vendors, each with its own handling, retention and audit trail. Cadence keeps that surface to one. You connect a single AI you have chosen and trust, through one governed connector, and your data passes through one model rather than a dozen. One AI, one data point, one place to reason about access, retention and compliance. If you are ever uncomfortable with a given AI, you disconnect it in a single action and the surface is closed. The connector uses the Model Context Protocol, an open standard, so this is a deliberate choice to run through one trusted AI, not a lock-in.

In Claude Desktop or on Claude.ai, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the server URL https://api.stratiumhq.com/mcp, leave the OAuth client ID and secret blank, and click Add. A browser window opens on app.stratiumhq.com; sign in with your usual Cadence credentials, review the consent screen, and click Allow. There is no API key to copy or rotate. Cadence then appears as a connector in your Claude sidebar, scoped to your own tenant.

Anything Cadence can do. Ask it to read your day, for example your plan grouped by strategic driver, capture work from a meeting into follow-ups, hold focus time, or delegate an item to your EA. Read requests change nothing, write actions are reversible, and Claude confirms before anything destructive. Every action runs under your real Cadence identity, so it appears in the activity feed as if you did it yourself.

Cadence ships three skills: cadence-base, the foundation you load first; cadence-daily-brief, a structured morning briefing; and cadence-inbox-triage, which sweeps Microsoft 365 or Gmail for new actions and writes them back as work items. On Claude.ai, go to Settings, then Skills, and add each one from its SKILL.md file. In Claude Code, place the skill folders in your skills directory and restart. The skills are workflow recipes on top of the connector, so the Cadence connector must be active for them to do anything.

Install the cadence-daily-brief skill, then ask Claude to run your morning brief. It pulls your plan, calendar shape, action queue, pending decisions and direct-report digest and presents them conversationally, so you can ask follow-ups, such as which decision matters most or what to prepare for the next meeting. It reports only and changes nothing. It is most useful on mornings when you would rather think out loud than read a structured email.

Co-work is Claude actively shaping your day rather than just reading it. With the connector active, you can say you need to ship a piece of work by Friday and ask Claude to hold focus time for it, and it finds suitable blocks, proposes times around your meetings and preferences, and confirms them to your plan. You can chunk a large task across several days, rebalance focus across drivers, or replan mid-day when a meeting moves. It uses the same scheduler as the web Plan page, so the result is identical wherever you drive it from.

Yes. An EA uses Claude with the connector exactly as an executive does, but acting on the executive's behalf. The EA sets the active principal in Cadence, then asks Claude to prepare the brief, queue the day's decisions, or draft tomorrow's plan from the meetings already on the calendar. Everything is attributed to the executive, who reviews and approves it in their normal Cadence surfaces. One EA can run this for several executives in the same session by switching principal.

The Brief is your day, built overnight from your calendar, inbox, sent items and the previous day's transcripts. It is on screen by 6am with protected focus blocks, the meetings that matter, your open commitments and the first action ready to begin.

Yes. The briefing is a proposal you accept or adjust, not a schedule imposed on you. Move blocks, defer work, or approve it as it stands.

Your calendar, your inbox and sent items, and the previous day's meeting transcripts. Claude classifies and prioritises the result, and your data stays in your stack.

A focus block is protected deep-work time the operating system itself defends. When a block starts on the Mac, a Focus Filter tells macOS to silence the right notifications across the whole device, and the right work item is already in front of you.

On the Mac, a focus session shows a live HUD with the current task and the time remaining. You can complete the task or defer it to tomorrow with one tap, without leaving the session.

No. The Mac app is self-distributing, signed and Apple notarised, so it launches with no warnings and updates itself outside the Mac App Store.

A native Windows app is coming soon. Until it ships, the web app runs in any modern browser, so the executive and the EA can both work today.

Declare recurring focus windows and the planner treats them as non-negotiable, routing meetings and lower-priority work around them. Wherever you are, focus blocks stay in your own time zone, and you are alerted when a block is at risk from a new meeting.

Yes. Focus blocks are stored in your IANA time zone, configurable per principal, so a 12:30 block renders at 12:30 whether you are in London, Boston or Singapore.

Cadence reads the organiser flag on each invite, so it tells the difference between your own leave and a team member's leave you happen to be copied on. Your focus allocation keeps running.

Only where you have connected a two-way calendar and approved the plan. Events Cadence schedules appear in the calendar you already use, and nothing is changed silently.

The EA builds and proposes the daily plan on the web, manages focus windows, runs the plan lifecycle, and coordinates several executives from one dashboard.

Every plan moves through explicit stages: Draft, Proposed, Approved, Active and Closed. The EA proposes, the executive approves, and each transition is recorded so both share the same view.

Yes. An EA can be assigned to several executives and switch between them, with each principal's plan, preferences and strategic context kept separate.

Both surfaces read the same day. What the EA adjusts on the web in the morning is what the executive's Mac shows, so there is no second copy to reconcile.

From new asks in your inbox and sent items, from meeting transcripts lifted into actions, and from photos of whiteboards or screenshots. Each item is routed to the right project with a type, priority and owner.

Strategic drivers are your annual priorities, set once in plain language. Every work item links to the driver it supports or shows up as unaligned, so drift is visible early rather than at the quarter end.

The weekly review shows what percentage of your time landed against each strategic driver, against where you said it should, including how much was unaligned.

Yes. You can export your data, and on cancellation it is retained briefly to allow recovery or export before it is permanently deleted, in line with the privacy policy. Your content is not used to train models.
